By 1990 (June), Aregbesola was an elected delegate of the inaugural SDP Local Government Area Congress. And  on July of the same year, Rauf was delegated to the National convention, Abuja.

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola served as the Director of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organization. In 1999, the organization engineered the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu – as the Governor of Lagos State.

Also, Aregbesola is fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), a fellow of the Certified Marketing Communications Institute of Nigeria (FCMCIN), a fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), and a fellow of the Nigerian Association of Technological Engineers (FNATE).

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is a pro-democracy Human Right activist. He was a key participant in the pro-democracy struggles and demilitarization (during the 1990s). He has also been an activist for other progressive courses. In 1999 to 2007, Rauf was the Lagos commissioner for works and infrastructure.

In year the 2007 elections, Aregbesola ran for Governor of the state – the candidate for the PDP, Oyinola Olagunsoya was pronounced the winner. The decision was appealee by Aregbesola, and on November 26, 2010, he was declared the winner.

On the 9th of August, 2014, Aregbesola won another tenure as the governor of Osun State.

Again, the train departs from the Mobolaji Johnson Station, Lagos by 4 pm and arrives in Ibadan by 6:41 pm at the Chief Obafemi Awolowo Station, Moniya, Ibadan.

The tickets are in three categories – the economy class ticket, business class ticket, and first class ticket. Prices are N2,500, N5,000, and N6,000 respectively.

This train only has a coach for the First Class category. For the Business Class, two coaches are available.

As a new service, the operation has a limited schedule. Only two train Schedule (Check out Train Schedule in Nigeria) daily. With time, it would expand to up to sixteen daily departures. When the stations are fully completed, service would improve.

The station at Moniya, Ibadan is just a 10 minutes drive from the Ọjọọ main park, Ibadan. That’s like 20 minutes to Iwo road motor parn when traffic is free.
