All teachers who want to enroll for the TRCN’s Professional Qualifying Examination must fill the registration form. Forms are available at State offices across the nation. Completed forms are to be returned together with proof of payment of exam fees.

Examination fees are in categories, and they are listed below:

  • Category A costs N5,000. This is for Ph.D holders in Education, or with Education qualification.
  • Category B costs N4,000. This is for holders of Masters in Education, or in other fields with Education qualification.
  • Category C costs N3,500. This category is for Degree holders in Education or in other fields with qualification in Education.
  • Category D costs N3,000. This category is for holders of NCE.

These costs only cover examination fee, not the cost of registration. If you pass the exam, you will still pay the registration fee.

The date and venue of examination will be communicated to all candidates.

What are the procedures for registration?

Successful candidates of the Professional Qualifying Examination should visit any TRCN officenearest to them. They are to go along with their tellers.Cash receipts will be issued in order to process and complete their registration.

The registration fee ranges fromN6,000to10,000, depending on the qualification category.

The Letter of Professional Standing costs N40,000.

Are there Annual Dues?

Yes. The annual dues can be paid at an branch of the any commercial bank. After payment, the teller must be taken to any TRCN office for proper documentation.

The annual dues include:

Holders of NCE – N2,000.

Holders of Bachelor’s Degree – N3,000.

Holders of Masters – N4,000.

Holders of Ph.D – N5,000.

How of often are licensesrenewed?

Teachers are to renew their licenses every three years. This also means they must have paid their annual dues consecutively for the three years for the licenses to be renewed.
