The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, FMARD, is responsible for ensuring food security in livestock and fisheries, crop, and the stimulation of agricultural employment and services. On June 2011, President Goodluck Jonathan appointed Akinwumi Adesina as the Minister of the FMARD. In 2015, Audu Innocent Ogbeh succeeded him, who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
President Muhammadu Buhari, in his second term, didn’t retain the service of Audu Innocent Ogbeh. In 2019, Sabo Nanono was appointed.

Credits must be at least in three subjects, English Language included, plus a minimum of two passes in other two subjects.
- A National Diploma (ND), General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level), or National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution. Passes in a minimum of two subjects obtained at a sitting, or three subjects at two sittings.
