About Federal University, Lafia
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) was founded by the Goodluck Jonathan led government back in February 2011. It was established for the benefit of the general public in order to reduce the mounting pressure on already existing universities in Nigeria that had become overstretched and could no longer accommodate new students. FuLafia is in Nassarawa state, which is locate in the north central part of Nigeria.
Upon academic commencement, The Federal University Lafia had a student population of 243 students. That number has since grown to over 5000 at the start of the 2018/2019 academic session.
Professor Ekanem Ikpi Braide was the first Vice Chancellor of the University and the current Vice Chancellor is Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman.
Federal University, Lafia offers courses, bachelor’s degree, post-graduate, masters and Ph.D. programs in arts, agriculture, science, education, and social science disciplines.
The University is relatively new, so it is well equipped with some of the best infrastructures and utilities such as standard buildings, large and spacious lecture theatres, a study library, well-equipped students hostels to mention a few. Students who still choose to live outside of the University campus are also afforded the opportunity of a fair life style as cost of living in the state capital Lafia, is quite cheap.

Federal University Lafia Admission Requirements.
The admission process into FuLafia is relatively easy and open to any body, regardless of tribe, sex, or religion. All that is need is for each candidate to satisfy all requirements stipulated by the department or faculty for which the candidate is applying for.
Aside exclusive requirements laid down by each department and faculty, there are general basics that every prospective candidate must satisfy for the two main mode of entry which are:
- Admission through JAMB/UTME and,
- Admission through Direct Entry
Federal University, Lafia JAMB/UTME
Candidates who are trying to gain entry into 100 level of the university must have at least five credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), NECO or GCE, in not more than two sittings. FuLafia insists that each student must have a credit pass in both and English and Mathematics irrespective of discipline. They are also required to have a minimum UTME score of 180.
The school also carries out a post-UTME screening process to guarantee that only the most qualified student are allowed entry into the university.
Federal University, Lafia Direct Entry
Students trying to gain entry into the 200 level are required to have at least five credit passes to include English and Mathematics at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), NECO or GCE levels in not more than two sittings. Candidates are also required to have a minimum of two advanced level passes in relevant subjects in GCE examinations. Alternately, the student is required to have a credit level Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Credit level in Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE).

Federal University Lafia has an affordable tuition plan that is less than N100,000 for freshers. The details of the 100 level undergraduate school fees for the 2019/2020 academic session is contained in a circular released by the office of the bursar.
