History and Background
The University of Jos was established with the vision of being a game changer in the education sector of the Nigeria. It is a visionary institution with that attempts to blend education and morals in the mind of youths. Till today, the university still Carrie’s a high responsibility of moulding the attitudes and ethic of its student. University of Jo’s is committed to providing education that is globally competitive and relevant to the needs of the society. The school envisions producing students that are employable and capable of facing challenges with the best solution possible.
The University of Jos started as a campus of University of Ibadan in November, 1971. It admitted its first set of students in January, 1972. The first set of students admitted were the pre-degree students. In 1973, degree courses in arts were introduced and in 1974, science and education degree courses were introduced. The name of the current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako who assumed duty on the 23rd of June 2016.

Unijos Admission list
The admission into the university of Jos is an annual event. In essence, there’s an expected opening for admission at every academic session. To check admission status for the ongoing academic session, the admission list for 2015/16, 2017/18 is available online. Simply follow the process below.
- Go to UNIJOS admission status checking portal at https://portal.unijos.edu.ng/Account/CheckAdmission .
- Supply your JAMB registration number in the required column.
- Finally, click on ‘Get Started’ button to access your admission status and registration procedure.

Unijos School fees
The school fees of the University of Jos is a product of Senate review and decisions. At the start of every session, a schedule of fees is released to notify fresh and returning students of the fees of various services of the school. How to Apply for UNIJOS Post UTME Form.
- Each candidate shall pay a non-refundable fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00), only (excluding Bank charges) for the screening.
- Visit University of Jos Portal https://portal.unijos.edu.ng/ for registration procedure as follows:
- Click on PROGRAMME
- Click on UTME/DE SCREENING
- Enter their JAMB registration number (This is how you can check your jamb result)
- Click Get Started
Note:
The Candidate will be prompted to select and confirm an easy to remember password. Thereafter, a confirmation link will be sent to their email
The Candidate should accordingly login in to their email and click the confirmation link
The candidate is taken to the login page and continue his/her Screening registration
- Visit https://portal.unijos.edu.ng
- Click on Login
- Enter email and password
- Navigate to Login and click
- The candidate is taken to their personalised dashboard
- Click on Pay Screening Charge
- Select the payment option (card, Bank Branch, Internet Banking) then click proceed
- Enter the details requested and follow the prompt
- Upon Successful payment, the user is returned to their dashboard
- Enter five relevant O level subjects and their grades
- Click Finish
- Print the Screening Registration Slip
- Log out and await further communication from the University
