The Nigerian Military forces are a vital part of the sovereign welfare of the country. In Nigeria, all member of the military force all serve a particular function in all areas of the country. To that end, the Nigerian force has been divided into three functioning components to include: the Army, Airforce and Navy. History and Background

The University of Jos was established with the vision of being a game changer in the education sector of the Nigeria. It is a visionary institution with that attempts to blend education and morals in the mind of youths. Till today, the university still Carrie’s a high responsibility of moulding the attitudes and ethic of its student. University of Jo’s is committed to providing education that is globally competitive and relevant to the needs of the society. The school envisions producing students that are employable and capable of facing challenges with the best solution possible.

The University of Jos started as a campus of University of Ibadan in November, 1971. It admitted its first set of students in January, 1972. The first set of students admitted were the pre-degree students. In 1973, degree courses in arts were introduced and in 1974, science and education degree courses were introduced. The name of the current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako who assumed duty on the 23rd of June 2016.

Brief history of Uniuyo

The University of Uyo is a new generation university. It was formerly known as the university of cross river (UNICROSS). However, it was licensed to become a federal university on the 1st of October, 1991 by the federal government of Nigeria. The University inherited the students, staffs and academic programmes of the University of cross river. Notably, the university of cross river has been in full operation since 1983, so it was only after 8years, it became the prestigious Uniuyo.

The university of uyo commenced academic activities during the 1991/92 academic session. Currently, it has 12 faculties, a postgraduate school and a center for continuing education. The Vice-Chancellor is Professor Enefiok Essien. In 2015 the Emir of Hadejia, Adamu Maje was appointed chancellor. The university runs a multiple campus scheme. With a main campus, town campus, Annex campus, College of health campus and the Ime Umennah campus.

Postal codes in Nigeria are numeric, comprising of six numbers. NIPOST, the Nigerian Postal Service, divides the nation into nine (9) districts, which make up the initial digit of the code. The second and third numbers joined with the first, is the dispatch area for active arranging. The last three numbers speak of a strategic/public location. This strategic/public can be any of the following; a mail station office, a provincial region, or an urban territory.

Nigeria is made up of six geo-political zones with each geo-political zone having a similar ethnicity and foundation, social practices and history. The geo-political have helped in the powerful distribution of resources by the administration and was made during the rule of General Ibrahim Babangida. The six geo-political zones are; North East, North West, North Central, South, South West, and South East. Every one of the states in the 6 geo-political zones has its unique postal codes.

However, Nigeria doesn’t have ZIP codes; ZIP codes are only used and available in the United States of America. Brief history of Unimaid

The University of Maiduguri popular called UNIMAID is a tertiary institution owned and managed by the federal government of Nigeria. It is located in the city of Maiduguri, Borno State. It was created by the federal government in 1975. At inception, the university had no physical structures of it own. In 1976, it took over the premises of the former North East college of arts and science (NECAS). The inherited buildings were enough to kick start the activities of the University. Notably, the staffs of NECAS were absorbed into the institution when academic activities commenced in October 1976.

The university has grown to become a key player in the educational sector of the country. Quite a number of prominent individuals in the country have passed through the school. The current Vice-Chancellor of the school is Professor Aliyu Shugaba.

The Unimaid CDL was created in 2014 for the sole purpose of complementing the university in proving top level education. It is an effective arm of the tertiary knowledge that uses technology to support experience teaching without the grips of the nation’s space, age or socioeconomic constraints.  CDL Maiduguri offers a broad range of degree programs in the arts humanities, education, social sciences and management. A total of 10 departments commenced in the year of establishment. However, it has grown to a total of 30 with two diploma programmes inclusive.

  • In order to be admitted to a Bachelor Degree in any of the Faculties, a prospective student must satisfy the minimum University Entrance Requirement (and where applicable, the additional faculty requirements as provided in the regulations governing admission) detailed by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.
  • Follow an approved course of study for a prescribed period; Pass the required examinations set out in thee detailed degree regulations of the various Faculties; pay all prescribed fees.
  • And comply with such other regulations and requirement as may be prescribed. Minimum age of 16years on 1st October of the year of admission.
