Tonto Wigo Charity Dikeh, popularly known as Tonto Dikeh, is a Nollywood actress, producer, singer, songwriter, and humanitarian.

Born on June 9, 1985, she grew up in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, where she had her primary and secondary education. Tonto is from the Ikwerre tribe in Rivers State. She earned a bachelor’s degree in petrochemical engineering from Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

Afterwards, the award-winning actress pursued her passion for acting by featuring in the reality show ‘The Next Movie Star,’ where she became the first runner up. She featured in her first movie titled ‘Holy Cross’ in 2005, alongside Jim Iyke and Pete Edochie. Her role in this movie caved a path for more roles in the movie industry.

In 2010, she also featured in the popular movie ‘Dirty Secrets’ where she featured alongside Muna Obiekwe. ‘Dirty Secrets’ became a controversial one as people criticized the movie for its explicit scenes. However, it increased her fanbase and brought her to the limelight.

The talented actress also decided to pursue a career in music. Tonto Dikeh featured in a music video owned by Amaco Investment, with Patience Ozokwor. She also released two songs titled ‘Hi’ and ‘Itz Ova.’ Her singles didn’t gain the required attention from music lovers. The negative feedback from her first two singles didn’t discourage the actress from releasing more songs.

She featured Terry G in another single titled ‘Crazily fit.’ She went ahead to sign up under D’banj’s record label, DB Records. There, she released singles such as ‘Ekebe’ and ‘Sugar Rush.’ However, she left the record label in 2015.

Tonto Dikeh is known by several nicknames such as King Tonto, Poko, Mama King, and Tontolet.

Tonto Dikeh has featured in several notable movies such as Missing Rib (2007), Games Fools Play, Rush Hour, Throne of War, Celebrity Marriage, Fatal Mistake, and a host of others.

Tonto Dikeh married her husband, Olakunle Oladunni Churchill, in 2015. A nephew of the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, and a Lagos native, Churchill is a successful businessman who owns companies such as Big Churchill Haven Limited and Big Church Entertainment.

Tonto met her husband at a Lagos nightclub and they fell head over heels with each other. Less than one year later, they tied the knots in a glamorous traditional wedding.

Their marriage hit the rocks when the couple came out to reveal different versions of what had happened. Tonto Dikeh revealed that Olakunle Churchill was a cheat who physically abused her. She stated that he abused her so much that she suffered a miscarriage. She also revealed that she got infected with STDs from her husband.

However, Churchill had a different story to tell. He denied the claims made by Tonto and stated that she was the abusive one. He also said that she never suffered any miscarriage.

The two went their separate ways and have still not been on speaking terms.

The popular actress started a foundation, Tonto Dikeh Foundation in 2000, to assist women in fighting against injustice and offering psychological help to them. Her foundation also awards scholarships to students with financial issues and assists victims of abuse. It also aims at assisting displaced and underpriviledged girls, children, and youth, irrespective of their political, religion, and cultural diversity.

The union between Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill produced a lovely baby named Andre Omodayo Churchill in February 2016. She nicknamed him ‘Baby X.’

After divorcing her husband, she changed his surname to Andre Dikeh.
