N-Power
This is a youth empowerment program created by the Federal Government. The aim is to reduce the rate of unemployment among the youths in Nigeria.
YouWin (Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria)
This empowerment program is in conjunction with the Ministry of Communication Technology as well as the Ministry of Youth Development. It was created to encourage young entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Yes-P (Youth Entrepreneur Support Program)
This program also caters towards reducing the rate of unemployment among youths in Nigeria. The Bank of Industry provides support and funds to youths with sound business ideas. Business trainings are also available.
YEDI (Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative)
This youth empowerment program has been in existence since 2011. The purpose is to inspire youths in Nigeria to reduce HIV and its stigmatization.
YISA (Youth Initiative for Sustainable Agriculture in Nigeria)
This empowerment program encourages the Nigerian youths to go into agricultural businesses.

Nigeria youth empowerment 2021
One of the most popular empowerment programmes for youths in Nigeria as of 2021 is the N-Power.
It is a youth empowerment scheme designed to tackle unemployment among youths in Nigeria. The strategy is to offer a structure that encourages skill-set acquisition and development. This will position youths to be able to work and earn.
In 2015, N-Power was established by the Mohammed Buhari administration, under the National Social Investment Office. The beneficiaries of this empowerment program get trained and are employed, plus N30,000 as monthly stipend.
The program is divided into 2 categories – the Non-Graduate category or the Graduate category.
Nigerian youth empowerment fund
The Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) is an initiative of the government. It was established to enhance the economy of Nigeria by leveraging and giving youths access to finance.
This fund was meant to be a catalyst which will bring out the potential of the Nigerian youths to build businesses which will create more employment opportunities.
From 2020 to 2023, the funding program was aimed at reaching at least 500,000 Nigerian youths annually. Approved fund can range from N250,000 to N48,000,000 – spreading across individual applications, group applications, working-capital loans, and many more.
Applicants must be between 18 to 35 years old.

- 2 recent passport photographs.

- A guarantor’s form, plus some passport photographs. Skip this if you are applying for grant.
Buhari empowerment programme 2020
In 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari launched the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme (P-YES). The purpose of this scheme is to create over 774,000 jobs with Local Government Areas across Nigeria.
PP-YES is a social and economic development strategy for empowering youths and young adults in Nigeria.
World bank empowerment program in nigeria
The World Bank has been in support of the economic of Nigeria. It is currently offering grant of $150 million for the Nigerian youths for empowerment.
