The Nigerian Industrial Training Fund also called the ITF was established in 1971 under Decree 47 of 1971, which was amended in 2011. The Industrial Training Fund was established to provide training and develop a generation of skilled manpower in Nigeria.
Since its inception, the fund has contributed massively to the development of skills acquisitions, and training programs across Nigeria. The Student’s Work Experience Scheme is the most popular initiative of the funds which brings academia closer to the industry.

According, to the Salaries, Income, and Wages Commission, the harmonized salary for the Industrial Training fund under the Revenue Generating Agencies salary structure is as follows;

Grade level 9 (Step 1-5) – N82,000 to N131,000
Grade level 10 (Step 1-5) – N87,000 to N139,070

Grade level 13 (Step 1-4) – N114,670 to N158,670
Grade level 14 (Step 1-4) – N135,100 to N195,809

Note: Grade 17 Step 5 will automatically become the Director General, subject to the approval of the president. Also, the Industrial Training fund uses the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (Check out the civil service commission salary) (CONPSSS).
ITF Allowances
Housing allowance: Staff members of the Industrial Training Fund are also covered by the housing scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria under the National Housing Fund which is deducted monthly from their salaries.
Annual leave allowance: Each staff is entitled to a three-week annual with 10% of his or her annual salary as a leave allowance.
Health care: Each employee of the federal government is covered by the national insurance scheme.
