Police service commission latest promotion
On January 2021, there have been new promotion of police officers by the Police Service Commission.
The promotion if I’ve 20,300 senior officers was approved. Also, about 9 Commissionerof Police were promoted to the rank of the Assistant Inspector General. Nine otherswere promoted to the rank of Commissioner from Deputy Commissioner.
The promotion was from decisions made at the eleventh plenary meeting. The Police Service Commission held this meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2021, in Abuja. It was presided by the Chairman, Musiliu Smith (a Nigerian retiredInspector General of Police).
Also, the PSC approved the promotion of 3 Chief Superintendent toAssistant Commissioner of Police. About 1,577 Deputy Superintendents were likewise promoted to the rank of Superintendent. Up to 2,293 Assistant Superintendents were also promoted to Deputy Superintendent.

Police service commission chairman
The current Chairman of the Police Service Commission is Musiliu Smith. He is a former Inspector General of Policeandwas sworn-in by PresidentMuhammaduBuhari as the new chairman of the Commission.
On 25th of July2018, Mr Musiliu succeeded Mike Okiro, another former Inspector General of Police.
Police service commission promotion
There have been some recent promotions by the Police Service Commission of Nigeria.
In January 2021, the Commission approved the confirmation and promotion of over 7,000 unconfirmed Assistant Superintendents (ASP11) to Assistant Superintendent (ASP11).
Also, 110Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Senior Inspectors. Again, about 9,072 Inspectors were promoted to Assistant Superintendent (ASP11).
