The group of women is the wives of expatriates. They came together to get busy; that was how they decided to build a school that would cater to their children.
As history has it, the Ikoyi Day Nursery school was the cradle of all the existing Corona Schools. The Nursery school was the humble beginning – this was around 1954.
In 1958, the Corona school started with 60 children. Elder Dempster loaned the building to the Corona Women’s Society. The rest was history.
