Back in the 1970s, year 1970 to be precise, a group of three entrepreneurs (Pat Goss, Laurie Dippenaar, and GT Ferreira) began a small financial structuring company in Johannesburg, South Africa. The enterprising group called this company Rand Consolidated Investments (RCI). They built the business on traditional values and innovative ideas.
Later on, Pat Goss left the business and a new partner (Paul Harris) joined. This also proved to be successful.
Few years later, the three merged the prosperous lending and financing business with Rand Merchant Bank, a bank owned by Johann Rupert. The name RCI was swapped for RMB – this was how RMB came into existence.
