Glo APN Settings
The Glo APN settings are the internet settings applied on modems, smartphones, etc. that enables our devices connected to internet data. The inability of any device to browse or link to the internet is due to the APN settings not being configured.
In this article, I will share with you the various Globacom Nigeria Access Point Names for different devices.
Glo 4G LTE APN Settings
The Glo 4G LTE is the Glo long term evolution; it’s currently the fastest internet service after 3G in Nigeria. With the 4G LTE, customers have access to faster download speed. Also, they would be able to stream videos online without buffering.
However, the Glo 4G APN settings only work with a 4G enabled device. In this section of the article, I will be showing you how to configure your device to the Glo 4G LTE using the following methods:
- To verify if your device or smartphone supports GLO 4G, send a message on your phone with this format; 4G to 400. If your device doesn’t support the 4G LTE, you can upgrade your SIM by either buying a new one or swap your 3G SIM for a 4G enabled SIM at any Glo experience center.
- Confirm if your location has the Glo 4G LTE coverage. You can check by clicking here; The Glo 4G LTE is available in few states in the federation currently.
- Afterward, Go to your device connection settings and ensure your Glo APN is set to the following:
- APN – gloflat
- Username – flat
- Password – flat
With the following steps, you would be able to set up your device to the Glo 4G APN settings.
Glo APN settings for modem
To use the Glo APN settings for modem,
- First, you need to install the modem on your personal computer (P.C)
- After the installation is complete, go to the settings options on the tools bar. Click on Add on the connection settings
- Input the following details;
- APN: gloflat or glosecure
- Username: flat
- Password: flat
- Dial Number: *99#
Glo APN settings for android
The Glo APN settings can be done using any of the two configuration methods;
Automatic Configuration
You can request the Glo APN settings automatically using either of the following:
- Send ‘‘ACTIVATE’’ to 444 as a text using your Glo SIM
Or
- Send your phone name to 927 as SMS using your Glo SIM i.e., if your phone is a K7 made by Techno; you send Techno K7 to 927
Manual Configuration
You can configure your android phone for the Glo APN settings if it doesn’t get configured using the automatic method.
To configure the Glo APN settings on your android device manually, go to the phone settings, select APN, and input the following information in the required fields:
- APN (Access Point Name) – gloflat
- Username – flat
- Password – flat
- Proxy – blank
- Port – blank
Glo APN Settings for Blackberry
Glo APN settings for Blackberry can be set using the following steps;
- Enter ‘‘Settings’’ and General on the Blackberry device
- Select cellular data network/mobile data network under the network tab
- Click on APN and input gloflat
- Click on username and input flat
- Click on password and input flat
- Finally, select on network to complete the configuration.
With the following steps, your blackberry device would be configured for internet use.
Glo APN settings for iPad
iPad devices can be configured for internet connection using the following details;
APN – gloflat
Username – flat
Password – flat
The Glo APN settings for iPad will only work when the SIM is activated for the internet; the activation usually takes 24 hours.
Glo APN settings for iPad is the same setting for the iPhone device.
Glo APN settings for iPhone
The Glo APN settings for iPhone is the same settings for iPad devices.
APN – gloflat
Username – flat
Password – flat
Glo APN settings for fast browsing
The Glo APN settings for fast browsing only works for smartphones that are enabled for 4G. You can setup the APN settings for fast browsing using the following details:
- Go to your phone settings, Click on mobile network, and then choose the Access point names.
- Click on the ‘‘Glo Flat’’ option in the saved APN list
- On the ‘‘Bearer (Unspecified) option’’, tick all of the following networks
- LTE
- HSUPA
- HSPA
- HSPAP
- HSDPA
With the following steps, you have successfully configured your device to fast browsing.
