Federal polytechnic bauchi brief history and background
The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi (FPTB), came into existence by the Decree Number 33 (Act.33) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The establishment of the school was on July 1979.
The FPTB occupies on a 750-hectare land in Gwallameji village. This is along Bauchi, Dass road in the Bauchi metropolis. The Governing Council remains the apex of decision making of the Federal Polytechnic of BauchiIn. That’s the flow in the structure of the institution.
This council is responsible for approving budgetary estimates, making the general policy direction, and appointing the staff (the Rector excluded).
The Management Committee takes over the managerial functions of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi. The committee is headed by the Rector – representating the Governing Council. This too was stipulated by the Decree 33 of 1979.
The Rector is the Chairman of the Management Committee. The Deputy Rector, Registrar, Librarian, Bursar, Directors, and the Deans of School make up its membership.
