English Language is the most popular language and also the most spoken language in the world with over 1.3 billion speakers. English has become the language of the one world. It is widely used in media and diplomacy. The English Language belongs to the Germanic language family and sub-class of the Indo-European Languages. It is spoken in Europe, America, Australia, Asia, and many parts of Africa as both an official language or a second language.

The second most spoken language is Chinese Mandarin, it is the most popular in the world, thanks to China’s growing influence. Mandarin is gaining wide acceptance as a second language around the world. The Chinese Mandarin has an estimated number of speakers of over 1.1 billion people. It is widely spoken in Asia. Also, Chinese Mandarin has the reputation of being the language with the highest number of native speakers. Spanish is spoken in at least 22 countries and about four continents have Spanish as one of their official languages. According to Duolingo,.Spanish is a language favorite for learners of languages.

It has been projected that by 2030, 10% of the world’s population will be able to communicate in Spanish. So Spanish is the language of the future.

With about 281 million speakers. French is ranked as the 5th most spoken language in the world. About 43% of English words have their origin from french.

It is spoken widely across the world – from  France and sections of Canada to many other African countries such as Senegal, Cameroon, Niger, Benin Republic, etc.

With over 273 million speakers, Arabic belongs to Semitic and Afro-Asiatic Language families. Arabic is spoken in different countries and is also the official language of many Islamic countries. Muslims all over the world must learn this language as it’s the language of their Holy book. It is closely related to Hebrew. Amharic, and Aramaic. Arabic has heavily influenced many  European languages like such as Spanish and Portuguese, Romanian.

#7. Bangla/Bengali

With about 265 million speakers, Bangla or Bengali is the seventh most spoken language in the world. Bangla belongs to the Indo-Aryan language family and is closely related to Punjabi, Hindi Marathi, and  Nepal.

Bengali, referred to as Bangla by many English speakers is regarded as the second most beautiful language after French.
