Africa is the world’s second-largest continent (after Asia), covering roughly one-fifth of the planet’s total land area. The Atlantic Ocean borders the continent on the west, the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean on the east, and the mingling waters of the Atlantic and Indian seas on the south.

The United State of America is a country located in the continent of North America, it is regarded as a world power due to its strong military, economic, diplomatic, and political influence. It is the third-largest country on earth by land size with a total land area of 9.834 million km².
Is Africa east or west of the United States?
Africa is located east of the United States of America. The Atlantic Ocean separates the United States from Africa. The Atlantic Ocean is the second-largest ocean ( 106,460,000 km²) among the five ocean groups of the earth covering about 20% of the earth’s total area. Maine is the closest US State to Africa.
